AR15A1? / M16A1 Look Alike

Update with Brownells today. I had a bunch of small parts ordered to complete the rifle for everything except the barrel. Received an email this afternoon stating that the triangular handguard cap and A1 buffer tube kit is considered "Significant Military Equipment" and they can't ship it, yet the A2 birdcage flashhider and crush washer are fine and are being shipped. Weird US laws. Now I need to part out the buffer kit and buy the pieces individually to get it shipped. Just can't buy the kit.

Why are you being a ####! It took me 10 minutes to fill in the online form to get the import permit for the C7 stripped upper receiver. Another 10 minutes to complete the other 3 forms for Brownells to complete the export paperwork. It is easy and I will have my new receiver in a few weeks.
Thanks for nothing!

Whatever you do don't go to the nodak spud website. you will be broke forever once you see the awesome stuff for sale there.

Well having built AR's for quite a wile now it's not as simple as getting parts & throwing them together . ;)

So far from what I have seen bcshooter knows his stuff, sale is pending. I think there is quite a bit of decent information in this thread already, and if guys with actual experience building these retro clones chime in I think it will be even more helpful for those who love the 1960s charm the A1 look. Thanks to all!
