Hi.

I am currently looking at your line of semi auto rifles on your site. I have noticed that the dealer I use here in canada has two versions of the AR-18 rifle.

AR180B (restricted)

and

AR180B-2 (non-restricted)

My dealers catalogue tells me that the B-2 model is non-restricted. I have checked your website and you only show the ar180B and not the B2.

SO my question to you, is whats the difference between the two models?
I also realize that you are an american company and do not have to be familiar with canadian law, however I was also wondering why one is restricted and the other is not.

Finally, does the AR18 support a pictanny bipod?

Thank you for your time.

Brent,

The difference between the 180B and the 180B-2 is that the 180B-2 is a post ban rifle meaning that it has an integral muzzle brake that is part of the barrel and also doesn’t have a bayonet lug. That’s the only difference. We sell the 180B now since the ban is no longer in effect nation wide but there are some states that have bans that don’t allow the 180B, thus we offer the 180B-2. The 180B-2 is not a standard rifle that we sell so they’re not offered in our catalog. When customers from ban states we offer them the 180B. Hope that answers your questions.

P.S. The 180B doesn’t support or offer a picatinny bi-pod.

Edit lol... appears everyone already beat me to it, my bad.

Target Sports( see ad at the top of the page) has one listed on there site.

I called there, sounds like quite the bunch, they haven't had in a 6 months and won't be getting any for a least another 6 months and they don't know the price. They only actually had a few of what was listed on the website.

Still looking

Thanks everyone for the input. I am still looking, does anyone know if any dealers have one of these rifles in stock? Thanks, if I don't get this rifle might have to get an Mini14 Target......Im sure that will spark lots of opinion. !

Considering That I waited nearly two years for mine, either pay up, or clam up. Mine is still NIB

Didn't have to pay up. $700 with a scope includding shipping. :D

Why AR180B is restricted in Canada, while AR180B-2 is non-restricted?

humm...but that still does not explain why AR180B is restricted in Canada, while AR180B-2 is non-restricted. Pre- or Post-ban is a US thing, which I believe has nothing to do with Canada...

The one version is restricted because the barrel is only 18". The one with the integral muzzle break is 18.5".
