So...

I decided to take the AR180B-2 plunge again... I always kinda missed my original rifle, so when I saw this sitting in Reliable I had to snag it.

I had Jo at Dlask weld a picatinny rail to the top (rather than use the spring loaded rail); Thanks Jo!!
I like it alot because it addition to the LCF, I can see the irons through the Z-Point! WOOT!

The sandblasted upper was then Armacoated black by me :)

I went with the Folding Ace Tube Stock again for LCF and being able to fire it with folded stock either left or right handed and completed her off with a simple $4 home-made sling ;)

Yes, that is a RRA 10rnd mags with Tacti-Pull plate.

So... whatcha think?

I am a little choked because I wanted to sight her in today but POCO is closed :( Ugh... waiting until next weekend is going to be brutal.

Oh~ I like. I wonder what you spent for the whole project? The tube stock makes the whole rifle very simple, but classy. Very nice.

damn, just when i thought i knew what i want for my next rifle, here you come along with that nice looking ar180b, more decision for me to make.

X2 - exactly my thoughts. So many guns... so little cash..

Heheh... thanks all!

The Zeiss Z-Point is really really cool... I'd wanted one for years, but they were too cost prohibitive here in Canada; then one day I found one in the EE (Got to love CGN) :) It's dirt simple - on and off in 1 second, one button operation, auto adjusts the dot brightness according to the surrounding light (you can manually adjust if you so desire as well). My one and only complaint would be that there is no click adjust for the windage and elevation.

I was thinking about the MI forearm; I agree it'd look better, I still may do it in the future, but I wanted to keep costs as low as possible on this one.

The stock was roughly $200, the Rail and Paint again $200. The cost on the firearm itself was $1300'ish after taxes. So I am already in AR15 territory for cost, I didn't want to go beyond that.

I had pre-bought the Ace stock luckily; Ace no longer ships to Canada.

One more little modification I forgot to mention is that I sanded out the seams on the grip - It looks perfect and feels perfect. If you own an AR180B you know what I am talking about ;)

I'll try and snap some more photos later :)
For now though it's driving me nuts that I can't shoot it... I can hardly wait!

Negative, it was brand new... They had just got one in and were in the process of putting it on display when I saw it :)
Right place at the right time ;)
