AR180B Is this a 1 MOA (or close to) or MOBG Rifle

It doesn't need to be 10 inches wide, we're talking about ovals, not squares, and the wind is about calibre, projectile, velocity and ballistic co-efficient.

but what do I know, I'm a handgun guy.

I know dude, I'm just goofing around waiting for the inevitable "X rifle shoots Sub moa" posts to come along. Don't take me too seriously today;)

I believe 1 moa accuracy comes from a trained detected shooter
For the the average joe 2 moa is very adequate being more than
reasonable for any task we require.

For me to shoot 1 moa or sub moa it always requires handloads that can
be time consuming to find the right formula.

Ah yes. I always forgot the sl8. I suppose the fnar and swiss as well.

The FNAR is claimed to be a 1 moa rifle but my buddy owns one and he is having a heck of a time finding a load that will do it consistently. He gets the odd group that makes an inch at 100 but it isn't consistent. Plenty good enough for deer hunting though.
The Swiss Arms sniper may be able to do 1 moa (with the right ammo) but the standard classic green and black special are not consistent 1 moa rifles.
Even the SL8 will only do 1 moa with quality ammo, it is more of a 2 moa rifle if you try using cheap 55gr fmj.

When people accept that they are essentially buying a battle rifle that was designed to be able to shoot 3-4 moa and just go out and have fun with them things will be a lot more enjoyable.

If you want 1 moa buy a bolt action, a nice scope and some fancy ammo with the money you save.
Other than during load development or while trying to figure out which factory ammo the rifle likes best how much do we really shoot these rifles off a bench anyway? They should be shot out in the wild where they belong, taking shots from all positions not just off a bipod. These aren't target rifles.

Even rifles like the XCR or AR180B that are known for mediocre accuracy are accurate enough to zap a yote within 200 yards. That's good enough for most shots they'll be making.

You could hang on until ATRS releases their MV NR semi. Hopefully it'll be sometime this year.

Don't expect the MV to be any more accurate than an ACR, SL8, or decent AR. The 3 MH's I've shot were all more like 1.5 moa rifles with any ammo we tried. I'm sure they could do better with more load development or finding the magic factory load but they aren't some magical wonder rifle that shoots sub moa with any quality ammo you feed them.

I know, I've been paying attention. But it will have the kool factor , and let's face it, that's a very important quality.:)

The AR180B I had wasn't close to an MOA shooter, but then again it wasn't built to be one, it's just another battle rifle design made for MOBG.

Nothing spectacular but it gets the job done. I think this was with my Burris 2-7 scope, I doubt I could have done this with the irons :)
American Eagle 55gr FMJ black box and S&B 55gr FMJ. I'm sure it would probably do better if I tried some other ammo in it but this is good enough to have fun with out to 500yds.
The AE group was 4 into just under 2 moa but the one above stretched it out a bit. Still decent and it was probably more my shooting and that I was shooting off a picnic table and a backpack than the rifles fault.

With good ammo and a good scope on the 180b you can get it down consistently to about 2 MOA.
It's plenty accurate enough. People put way too much emphasis on accuracy in a rifle. They ##### and moan about .16 MOA and give themselves a headache and drain their wallets trying to make rifles more accurate by 0.25"
What are you using it for? Shooting coyotes? Hell a 4 MOA rifle will still make it right accurate a plenty at 200 meters for a reliable kill shot.
The pros of the 180b are that it's very light, very well balanced and very reliable at feeding any type of .223 out there and it's about as accurate as any base semi auto black rifle design.
If you want a very accurate semi auto that doesn't cost thousands just get a Browning BAR in .223 and be done chasing the dragon Sir.
I was/am a huge fan od the 180b design in all aspects.

This ^^^

If you want 1 moa buy a bolt action, a fancy stock/chassis, and still have money left over for a pile of ammo.
