Hey guys

I have a Stormwerkz scope mount on my Ar180b and while shooting standard military 5.56 ammuniton I had the experience where twice the scope mount literally jumped off of the rifle. This is my first time taking this particular rifle to the range and during regular iron sight usage the scope mount did not seem to fall off, however when I did have a Bushnell TRS-25 small red dot sight mounted it happened twice. I was wondering if any of you could explain the situation and what I could do to fix this as due to this problem I was not able to zero my red dot sight on the rifle. Thank you in advance and all the best.

Particular mount in question:

I have the same mount, with a 4x weaver on it. As long as you rifles tapered Dovetail mount isn't damaged, or loose, or welded on crooked and the mount is built to spec, it should mount properly. Mine requires pushing that spring plunger as far as it will depress against the rear sight mount, then pushing the mount down firmly on top of the receiver and pushing forward to help wedge it into the dovetail. After a few mags, the mount takes a bit of a set, and to remover the mount, you have to give it a careful tap towards the rear sight to break it loose.

Hope that helps.

It seems to install properly however it does not seem to zero properly :(. I will try it again at the range and when i get to cleaning it I will hopefully be able to take more pictures and show better what i mean.

This is pretty odd, if anything the mount should get tighter when you fire the rifle. Sounds like there is something wrong with the mount or the base on the rifle. Are you sure it is one all the way, is the spring tight?

Check that one of the spot welds on the plates isn't loose/detached.
I had the experience where I mounted the rail, and after firing a few rounds, one of the mounting plates popped-off; the rail was able to move from side to side and sometimes detach.

I ended up removing the plates and having a rail permanently welded.
