AR550 Targets in Canada?

I was looking at the Evil Roy line by Action Targets. Nutnfancy did a favourable review of them. Anyone ordered direct from them, or any experience with these targets?

Brownells said that, because of their weight, the post office won't accept them, and, because they are ITAR restricted, they can't ship them to a U.S. address for me. I haven't checked the courier rates.

well couldnt a guy get em fabbed up? gotta be a gazillion shops with something that could cut u a nice target. thought just crossed my mind lol...grader, cat, scraper blades, there pretty dang hard and all over the place. guy could get a buddy with a mean welder to rig em up? just a thought

I've talked with some of the shops that I use once in a while for laser cutting odd shapes out of steel. They do AR500 steel once in a while...one shop does a fair bit and the next time they're doing a run, is going to see how big of a piece of 3/8" thick gong he can scounge me....

Call any/all laser or waterjet fab shops and see what they say. If you can wait until a bigger order comes in, it's way cheaper than them doing something special for you.

The Caldwell Magnum Rifle Gong is available at cabelas.ca if you only need a ten inch circle. Good enough stand, great piece of AR-550, decent price ($150). Only fired 223 at it, but not a mark in the steel so far.

I also Made and use a lot of grader blade gongs. Not too bad to cut, they already have mount holes and will hold up to anything I've thrown at them. They're heavy though, and things go Thud when hit and they don't move a lot.

I got mine from CGN member BJB.

He has 1/2" AR 500 steel plates.

I won't post his price list but he has great prices and he doesn't take his time getting the targets shipped.

Here is a pic of his plates. He might be cutting new sizes now but when I ordered mine he was making them from 4" up to 15". All his targets are water jet cut and they are cut very nicely.

I picked up a 4", 6" and a 15".

Here is my 15" and the holder I made for it.

This is what happens when you shoot at hardened steel at 100 yards with high powered rifles.

The smaller hole at the bottom is a 7mm-08 at 100 yards and the 3 holes above are from a 204 ruger (39gr. blitzking at 3800FPS) at 100 yards.

I am getting 40 targets cut this weekend, I will be posting the prices when I have them in my hand, pricing will be good, just covering my cost basically.

I will re-post here next week wheni have them in hand, pm me if interested.
