AR57 PDW Upper Receiver

The benefit to having this sort of rifle/upper is that you've got this huge magazine capable of holding 50 rounds in a very small platform....alas, when it's pinned down to 5 rounds, the whole idea becomes a bit less.....appealing.

Nice.

Now, what I want to know... Since it's using the lower only as a trigger-group, would it be non-restricted with an 18.5 inch barrel?

The answer seems obvious, but what about the ferret50 uppers? Unless what I was told was complete BS, those remain non-restricted despite using an AR-15 lower.

If indeed the Ferret50 is Non-Restricted in Canada (I have no idea, never seen one or heard of them until now) it looks like you'd have to modify the lower in order for the spent brass to fall through.

It's a cool idea for making a Non-Restricted black rifle though... cost a lot too I'm sure.

I don't know much about it, either. I first heard about it a day or three ago.

Actually, building a custom lower for it could work... In bullpup configuration!

If the stock is permanently attached to the lower receiver, if you remove it, you don't even have the trigger group and thus can't fire. It would meet the extremely stringent specifications the CFC has pitted us against all the while keeping it modular.

Neat idea. Mag changes look like they would be a little cumbersome... what with the mag so far forward. There is also no room for optic adjustment (eye relief, placement, type of optic). It'd be OK with fixed irons (LMT type) but there may be issues with a folding front sight and changing mags while the sight was down. I'd also prefer the cocking handle were on the left as opposed to the right and it ejected out the right so there was some sort of port for determining/correcting stoppages.

I like the idea of a custom bullpup lower...

The case will eject down like PS90 not on the right side!;)
