Archangel AA 922 Mags

Hi guys,

I was wondering if anyone has used the

aa922 25 round mags

in an archangel 556 10/22 stock

and if so what were they like as far as jams/misfeeds.

I found this old post but it seems like they were a huge pain in the arse a couple of years ago. I know they make a newer generation and I was hoping they are better?

Found a YouTube video but am always a little suspicious. At least explains that there are 3 generations and explains some of the issues.

The biggest issue seems to be trying to load the magazine with a closed bolt but otherwise seems to be ok?

Spoke to a few shops in Lloyd apparently these are restricted now and have been pulled from shelves. No one understands or could explain to me why except Ruger marketed that its 25 round clip could be used with a handgun so now not only have they stopped selling either Ruger mags or Promag stuff they have even removed and kept these when they are on customers guns who are in store for service and seemed pretty happy that they all now had plenty of these magazines to play with. Kind of a crock of #### considering you can still buy 50 round and 100 round drums not to mention Butler Creek mags. Even if I wanted to order them according to the guys at Prophet River they can't even get them across the border. But if you read the regs there is no restriction for a 22 lr magazine. I just bought a Pro Mag stock and now if I keep it I can't get mags for it and have to go with Butler Creeks garbage that is jamming all the time or a drum that I don't want. Thanks Canadian Government for making no sense at all ever and not following your own laws.

All pistol mags are limited to 10rnds regardless of centre-fire or rimfire. Even revolvers are legally limited to 10rnds so no 12-shot 22lr revolvers allowed in Canada unless they have some chambers blocked.
Exactly the same thing happened to the S&W 15-22. They released a pistol version and all 25rnd mags became prohibited unless pinned to 10 because the mags are "interchangeable" with the pistol version. Silly laws are silly.

Weird thing is these are the mags inside the shells that look like G36 mags for the Marauder kit and those are still available. I think they fit in the pistol (not sure on that one), are removable from the shells if you don't want the G36-mag-look, but are still available.

I tried one once. Did nothing but jam. No idea what generation it was (it had a wire in the top that was supposed to stop jams, didn't seem to work).

Used these on 3x 10/22 recievers 2 recent manufacture and one 70's manufactured. worked fine in all of them, I use these primarily and have had really good luck. 2 are gen 2 and 4 are gen 3. Hical is a Promag dealer and has them for sale, I would talk to him about the restricted issue as I do not believe these are restricted at all.
