Mine didn't need any filing or modification what so ever. I have a shorty Norinco m14 and it dropped right in. Snug fit.

Interesting, is yours a newer one? Just curious as mine is a newer one so if it don't have to do any fitting that would be fantastic!

The m14 was the new shorty and the stock I actually purchased off eBay so not sure if it newer one or not. It did come with packaging but I threw it out. Yes, again no mods done whatsoever. Nice snug fit. Without a scope, total weight with tri rail installed is 12lbs. She a heavy mother..

I finally got my stock and got it on the gun, it did require some minor modifications to get the stock to fit. This is not the final product as I plan on putting a front grip on this rifle as well, but for me after playing around with it a bit it does seem to fit the bill for what I wanted. Also, does anyone know where I can get a set of USGI sights?
