Archangel Mosin 91/30 5rd mag doesnt fit properly... what is the mod to fix?

I remember this is a problem with the archangel 5rd mag they ship with the stock....

it sticks in there and you cant get it out without herculean effort.

I remember dave at hical telling me a fix, but i cant remember it.... i've tried shaving the tab on the back where the mag release is and it helped some... but not much... and it makes the mag looser... which isnt ideal.

The 10 rounders work flawlessly.

anyone remember? hical care to comment?
 
Shorten the bottom of the locking block on the back of the mag where it locks in, bit by bit, try it before it becomes too loose....
 
i've shortened that block by about 50%.. and it still doesnt want to work properly.. bit by bit.

The 10 round mags have 100% full size blocks and fit perfectly...and eject perfectly.

but the 5 rounder on my other one had a similar issue, it cleared up easy though..
 
I don't know what the fix is for your issue but if the spring is not pushing up all the way and causeing you feeding issues the guy heated his up in the oven and cooled it and it retained the shape
