Archangel Nomad and the BlackDogMachine Drum Mag

Recently picked up a 50rd Drum mag from Questar for my 10/22 in a Nomad. Made the purchase with the general advice that the tower on the blackdog drum is the same as the bone-stock 10/22 mag. Now it turns out that the drum won't go all the way into the mag well (about a cm short).

I've tried emailing blackdog to ask about other solutions, but have received no replies...

Has anyone else run into this? And what did you do to get it fixed?

I also purchased the archangel nomad and black dog drum thinking it would fit since the black dog drum looked longer , wondering what I could do to modify it to fit .
