I noticed this in the "introductions" forum and commented on it. It strikes me as quite an odd design consideration and I thought I'd post it here to see if someone had a different explanation.

If you look in the pictures below, it appears that the Archangel stock was specifically shaped to accommodate the Magpul Angled Fore Grip. Or is there another explanation? Like I said, seems like an odd design consideration. Or is it really popular to shoot an M14 with your hand at the front of the handguard with this specific attachment?

wow -- hey Turret Monster - did you know that that first pick is of my floor ? it just happens to have my old M14 on it -

so heres what I learned about that build -- it was just coincidence the radius matched
if it went back a bit farther it would have been more comfortable.
It looked great and I would defiantly build another again WITH the AFG up front

just curious - where did you get the pic of my rifle Turret Monster ? when it was listed on EE ?

If it went farther back, you'd probably be subtracting stiffness from the plastic stock frame in some way. Out on the end, it doesn't seem like a useable item, at least, not for any practical length of time. Can you modify it and bring it back closer to the magazine?

yes you can - or just get the AFG without the radius. It was "somewhat" comfortable -- like I said , I would do it again the same way , and i NO way would that effect the rigidness - anyone who has handled this stock will tell you - it's SOLID

I do sell these stocks from time-to-time so I will likely build another before the year is out - this time in the short version:D

and thanks Turret Monster for letting me know where you got the pic - just weird seeing my floor like that :) thats the CGN'r that bought it from me - he seems to be loving it
