Anyone put this stock on said rifle? I found something online with instructions about how to file down to fit it but it looks like with my rifle I'll have to file a heck of a lot more and not that one spot they mention.

I can try to force it, and it goes down a bit however a considerable amount of force is required to push it to the bottom.

It would appear if I have to sand this down then the whole cut out in the stock would have to be sanded as well.

Is the shorty somehow different than the other Norcs in this respect? I haven't found on the forums anywhere stating you need to file down such a large area.

Thanks,

I put one on my shorty last week. Went on fine once I did the filing in the above mentioned post. I didn't seem to have the trouble spot you are having.

Contact Jerry at Mystic Precision. I seem to recall that some had to have a little bit of a rub around the front ferrule. I could be way off the mark but it rings a bell. He will know for sure. By the way.......your gonna love it once its up and running :)

mine had the same problem. It was tight, but after reading the instructions, I did the filing and had to mess with the trigger grouping to snap in, cursed tons and it finally came together.

I put my Polytech into a Archangel stock before this info was available.. I got mine to fit by removing material from the trigger pads... Now I see where the problem lies... So Im going to pull it apart and file it so it sits flat. Now Im concerned I may have removed too much material from the trigger pad area. If I have too, I may consider some JB Weld.. or maybe drilling, tapping, and putting threaded inserts into the area where the trigger pads are, and using some set screws and be able to add or remove tension as needed.
can anyone show me a picture of this ferrule people are mentioning? Im confused.. I probably know what it is. Just know it by another name.
Many thanks.

Dave

Igormon, I found the same thing. My shorty was tighter in the sides than my regular length M14. I also had to file a bit more on the top of the stock, and top-front to get it to match the shorty's receiver. To mark where the receiver was binding, I found it helpful to push it down as much as possible, and then lightly hit the top with a plastic deadblow. It makes very light impact marks on virgin plastic. File, fit, repeat. Don't do the trigger pads until that receiver is tight as you want it.
