Archangel stock thoughts.

I guys i will start off by saying i dont have a m14/m305. I am looking to purchase in the near future and start a project gun. I want to start with a m305 shorty and tune/ modify from there. I am looking for a budget kind of build. I really like the archangel stock and have read it help improve the m305. I like its adjustability and ergos. I do shoot mostly off a bench but do deer hunt every year. I normally use my savage 10 in .308 but am looking for something else to use. I like the .308rd and have several hundred brass amd reload anyways.

What is everyones opinions, experiences of the stock. I have heard fitment needs a little trimming on occasion.

I have one and like it , not really designed as a hunting style of stock though. Yes there is a bit of stock removal required as the chinese receivers have a different shaped edge on the right side and you may have to remove a bit of material from under the trigger pads as well. Nothing to hard to do though , just do some research on it before you start removing stock material . If you need some pics or help contact me.

I actually really like the stock, I DON'T use it as a precision gun however. I find the stock great for hunting and it makes the M14 great as a "fighting" rifle, I don't find it overly heavy. I have a video taken of my M305 in my Archangel, I don't know if its of any use to you but here it is:

Have handled and installed quite a few. Like chalkriver says, some simple mods and fitment is good. I think it is a good stock for the bench as that is what it's ergos are more suited too. A little awkward on the carrying around and hunting side but that's just me, I like smooth lines on my hunting stocks.
Not a bad stock and decently priced. The adjustment features functioned well on the ones I've handled.
 
The M14 is a heavy hunting rifle to begin with, and adding the heavier stock will clearly not help that. I've used one and liked it, but I will never buy one. I dont like the weight, and neither does anyone else I know who's shot it. From the bench it looks cool, but its rather ugly after a day of pushing bush.

I use an M14 for hunting and I am really enjoying the USGI fiber glass stock.
 
As mentioned above.............its heavy ! Mine tips in at just under 15 lb with bipod and scope.
Great bench gun but a bugger to lug around. I find Im spending more time with my chopped down stock , which is nearly 5 lb lighter. Still on the fence about selling the Archangel

I would second that opinion, but then, I like them all. :)

I have one and really like the feel of it, but contrary to the advertisements it is not a precision stock. If you want the look and feel, and the increase in accuracy you will need to get the JAE that it is patterned after.
