Errrr... Silly question perhaps but what's with the ID required for purchase?

I hear tell these knee caps are comfy and I'm in need of a set but the ID part raises an eyebrow... Do they explode or contain a covert DNA RF GPS tracking chip?

I think Arc'teryx has a line of products that they dedicate only to the use of military personel for non-recreational purposes. So for someone to purchase it, they need to show military ID to prove they're not just some regular Joe. It's silly, tbh.

Too bad.
Their LEAF line is very well designed from better material and stand above many other manufacturer's products.
I wish I could buy some.
There's a very good article on their products and Otte Gear's in the latest issue of SNIPER magazine.
PP.

All LEAF products are available to civilians but Arcteryx offers a discount on all their items to Mil/LE that can produce a ID... As far as I know there is no end user restrictions for LEAF products.

Hahaha

I'm at war every day fighting so Americans and Canadians can drive there giant SUV's around getting 5Mpg and cook on there propane powerd BBQ whilst there natural gas furnace warms there single family 5000sq ft home to 23*c with half the doors and windows open... To perform this critical task I am appointed I spend no less then 4hrs per day crawling around on my knees in confined spaces on concrete or gravel... If I don't get a pair of these you may very well have to toss an extra blanket on the bed and/or pay an extra $1 per liter at the pump!

Well probably not but they might just save a bit of wear and tear on the old knees and make my day just "that much better"...

I was just surprised to see a mil/Leo ID was required to purchase knee pads.
