I would love to get a Ruger SR-22 rifle, primarily to keep the ammo cost down so I can practice, and noticed that someone had posted a photo of their SR-22 with a 8" barrel by Dlask Arms. Are .22LR SBR Non-Restricted, even if the shorter barrel is an aftermarket one, like from Dlask Arms? There's no minimum 18.5" barrel length to keep in Non-Restricted like that for centerfire rifles?

I have an SR22 for reference, with a 13'' barrel i'm at +/- 28'', so with that 8''Dlask i would be too short.
Don't forget that 26'' is with stock collapsed, unless you pin the stock but that doesnt look all that good.

Myself am waiting for Dlask for different products they seem to get these barrels out slowly. Instead of the .920 bull barrel profile i want a 12'' .750 HBAR profile instead. Reduced weight and compatible with gaz block front sights (i know just want a classic look)

OP, in the meantime why don't you contact Jerry at mystic precision, he will set you up real good barrel wise.

Also note that in Canada we do not have SBRs (Short-Barreled Rifles), however we do have a plethora of short-barreled rifles. In the US it is a distinct legal classification that distinguishes the difference between what we would define as a Restricted length Rifle (ACR or M1 Carbine for example) and a Retsricted Handgun.

More on topic, the only thing you need to worry about in regular rimfire rifle is the overall length of 26". Magazine capacities and barrel lengths (over 4.12 inches, of course) are largely unregulated.

Completely legal, as long as you do it right, (no cutting down of a factory barrel)

Once you have one you will fall in love with all types of shorties.

I started with a 12.5" Dlask, then put a regular buttstock on a Henry Mares Leg, now I have a 9" NEA on a 10/22 in a MP5 lookalike.

Just waiting to buy a 12" barreled pump shottie now.
