are .22s fun/worth getting

Again as many have said, .22s are cheap and fun. However, I appreciate what one Nutter said above about refining your skills. With quality ammo and patience they can build up your skill set for your other guns while challenging and pushing your comfort zone with the .22 itself. And yes, you will eventually acquire more than one...they're great!!
I agree.

I have 2 .22's my savage mark 2 bolt action rifle, and a norinco M93 woodsman pistol, the mark 2 sat benched for about a year, that was probably due to my abundant supply of CF ammo, whenever I brought my .22 to the range there was always something else to shoot so it got neglected, eventualy I stopped bringing it alltogether. this past month I have been taking it with me almost all range trips and tend to shoot it the most, i'm having a really good time with the .22 again, probably just a phase where I was spoiled with CF ammo... I had my fun now to sit back and enjoy everything again.
my .22 pistol always comes with me when I take my 9mm pistol shooting, I don't shoot either pistol very often at all.

If I had to pick only one rifle or pistol to have, it would be a .22 hands down. You can carry ages worth of ammunition on you, you can plink away an afternoon for less than the cost of a burger and fries. best rifle to start with, best rifle to hone your shooting skills with. I highly recommend getting one.

If I head to the range to sight in or test a newly purchased firearm, I bring a .22 with me so I can feel like I had worthwhile shooting time.
I can shoot $20 in centerfire ammo and I can shoot $5 in .22. The .22 gets me more shots downrange for less money. It's also good for introducing friends gently to the shooting sport.

Just finished playing with the Cooey 75 that I refurbed. Man, the .357s and .303s and 22-250s are all great but I gotta tell ya, I paid $79 out the door for a complete, good condition single shot and after rebluing it and finishing the wood to near perfection I am amazed at how much fun plinking at metal spinners is when using subsonics!! It's quieter than any airgun! Great price for an awesome piece of Canadiana. And way too much fun!

I like to shoot .22 more than my other caliber.
It is inexpensive and fun to learn how to shoot.

.22 is a great calibre for beginners and experts, inexpensive ammo and fun to shoot, I have tried a ruger 10/22 and a marlin 795, and I have to say I like the marlin better because of the accuracy and the price.

I have an old cooey and the mossberg 715t...tons of fun at the range....doesnt break the bank, which is good because my daughter and girlfriend shoot just as much as me! When it comes to handguns i have a steyr m40a1 which i absolutely love, but my girlfriend "forced" me to get a gsg 1911, and I could not believe how much fun it is shooting that little .22!

I just got a CZ 455 not long ago and since then I spent the most of the time at the range with my CZ!! It sure is fun to shoot and cheap to shoot as well!!
