Are 870 tactical models not popular?

you don't hear about them much on here

LOL.... That's all you here about on this Forum! I think if I read another "Mossy versus 870" post I might just :puke:.
Unfortunately a lot of guys on this Forum think the pump gun is the best Shotgun available.
I helped a guy at our Club try to unjam his new 870 the other night when he was shooting Clay's couldn't believe the poor build quality Remington is trying to pawn off as an 870 these days. And don't even get me going on the Norinco clones. After all clone is just a polite word for copy.
Would I use one of these as a Tactical self defence shotgun, LOL no, as I value my life.

what would you have them use? doubles?

how many have you owned? the machining on my Grizzly is flawless - better than my Wingmasters. it has never failed to function.

If you think the machining on your "grizzly" is flawless, you know nothing about quality machine work.

what do you base your opinion on. have you even touched a Grizzly?
90% of your opinionated bashing on this board concerns guns you have never even handled, much less fired.

i pray they make a doubles subforum so you can just stay in there and we dont have to wade through your biased BS in every single pump thread. in the meantime, heres an awesome idea for you: since its clear that you hate pump guns, anything tactical, short shotguns, chinese guns, etc - why dont you refrain from posting in every single thread about them?

Where in the "H" did you get the idea I hated pump guns?

the bulk of your posts in this forum are Fudd posts, gun snobbery and bashing of anything thats not a Benelli, Beretta or expensive double.

Despite my username I'd prefer something else in a tactical pump, maybe an Ithaca 37? I find the 870 is needlessly heavy and the action, while smooth, just doesn't seem as "snappy" and easy to run at speed as some of the other choices.

The steady degrade in quality is another gripe, I was not overly impressed by the fit and finish of my 2003 vintage 870P so I can only imagine what the Express guns are like.

I guess if I had an ancestral lineage such as yours http:// Cheap pump guns would make me go "Wee Wee Wee all the way home" too. :)

Win/64 .....its obv you dislike 870s but in all honesty just like most people on this site you dislike one brand over another you try to hard to beat it into a pulp.....sure its not 100% but no gun is.....a pump gun is pretty simple and if you rack it right you should have no issues with an 870......mine has shoot 100s of rounds with no problem. I do know that some "magnum" 870s have issues due to a sizing problem.

And sorry for this rant but I get SOOO tried of hearing people complain how the looks are on a gun ESPICALLY one something like a shotgun thats under $500....sure a pretty gun is nice but if you really use your gun and not just look at it then its gonna get some wear and tear.....I'd rather an ugly gun that works then a more expensive "pretty" gun thats only there to look at and brag about.

You're wasting your time with your rant about using a gun instead of looking at it. The general consensus on this forum is that function follows form rather than the opposite. I mean really, who cares about a gun that works, looking cool is what counts.

There probably isn't much dicussion because there isn't that much to say. The various 870 tacticool models are just the basic Express shotguns with assorted sights, stocks and finishes and a significantly higher price tag. Not quite lipstick on a pig but they are uninspiring guns when compared against an 870P or Wingmaster and even they aren't what they used to be.
