Are 870 tactical models not popular?

have they started moving to short barrels tapped for chokes?
i thought it was only the 'Tactical' line because they needed some way to install that useless breaching device.
The provision of the breaching tool and choke threading is for the "tactical" guns but that covers most of what Remington is producing in the 18.5" length. Their website does list the Express Synthetic with the 18.5" fixed cylinder and 20" barrels can be had with fixed IC chokes.

Before they introduced the breaching tool all Remington 18.5" barrels were fixed cylinder choke in the non-Police models.

:shotgun:the base 870 express.. Runs about $399-450 .. Ive seen it as cheep as $399 at wholesale sports.

The remington tactical 870s, are all built from expresse;s. runing from $500-850ish..

The knoxx spec ops butt is abosolutly useless - in my opinion. It reduces your control and cycle speed, with loads more than bird shot.

The butler creek, side folder is even more useless.. I'm left handed, the hinge portion kept hitting me in the face.. the stock is flimisy/cheep..

870s are excellent.. your better off with a police model,, ive seen them at P&D, shooting edge and Wolverine $750-1200.

But if you have budget constraints go with a bare bones 870 or on the other hand a bare bones mossy 590a1 ive seen as low as $475..
