Are "breaching" rounds legal in Canada?

Or are they pretty much off limits to "civillian" sales?
What about beanbag ones?
What other kind of cool stuff can you fire out of a 12 gauge? :D

I have no use for either of 'em really but it'd be interesting to know if they were on an official ban list and why. :D :jerkit:

Yes they are legal to have.

Wow, lots of fun things you can shoot out of a gauge.

Beanbags, rubber balls, dimes, confetti, flour, illuminating & whistling devices, rock salt, rice, powdered lead, :D homemade flashbangs, flames out of short barrels :) and pyrotechnics if you have such a licence.

i could see loading up some shells with rock salt as a marginally more humane animal deterrant, instead of flat out shooting them. youd have to test them to see what ranges they are nonlethal at. there are some older members on GCN that can give you a firsthand account of what its like to be shot with rock salt, might want to ask them for some clarification :)

breaching rounds are made from compressed/sintered or wax/resin-encased powdered metal that disperses after it transfers its energy to the lock/door hinges/target so that you eliminate the danger of a ricochet or penetrating a dozen walls like shotgun slugs or buckshot might.

i suppose if youre set up for reloading shells you could even make your own beanbag rounds :) i can just see the look youd get from your wife/girlfriend after asking 'honey, can you make a bunch of tiny little beanbags for me?'
if you ever shoot/injure a person with these though i hope you are prepared for an extended vacation hosted by the Canadian penal system.

the beanbag rounds police use have a little flag sewn to their ass or have an empty 'tail' to stabilize them in flight.
ive even seen pieces of dowel :)eek:) used in some countries as a 'less lethal' round. there are pics on several protest sites of protesters shot by cops with 'nonlethal' ammo and its pretty brutal stuff. theres one pic of a young girl that was shot in the face with one and it looked horrible.
some part of me thinks that even though they are specifically warned to only shoot 'less lethal' rounds at extremities and never use them at point blank or very close ranges, cops often do so and aim for peoples chest and head deliberately.

these 'hornet's nest' rounds full of tiny rubber balls look particularly painful and aptly named:

Those rounds look like they would be good for home defense. You can shoot a home invader and hopefully not do him much harm other than welts and bruises. And it would be a hell of a lotta fun to shoot him and hear him scream like a little girl!:D

there are too many bad scenarios i can imagine with non-lethal ammo and home defense... not least of them the home invader being armed with real bullets and not being stopped/deterred by rubber pellets. in this country full of laws that protect the criminal more than they do the lawful home owner, pointing a gun at someone - much less firing any form of ammo at them - is no joke. if you find yourself in a situation where shooting at an home invader is actually justified then DO it... with real bullets. dont #%@$ around with a gun loaded with rubber or beanbag crap.

I found a company that lists all sort of fun rounds, dragons breath, shells with pieces of chain, two balls connected by piano wire, whistles, flame rounds etc.

that is cool I figured they were a no go here.

Found it again

here is another one that sells some different ones.

love what he says under the list:

While all of these sound like they should be violating a lot of laws, remember that you can just buy your own shell loader and put whatever you want into your cartridges. I suggest that you don't do this, though. I also suggest you don't buy any of this ammo or fire it

You shoot someone in defense, you shoot to kill...

If you aren't shooting to kill, you aren't really in danger...

This one would be a lot of fun to silently slip in as your 5 round during a busy evening shoot.
:D
12 GA. Flame Thower

The 12 Ga. "Flame Thrower" round as pictured produces an enormous wall of fire for 250+ feet. The incendiary metal compound contained inside burns when fired at over 4000 degrees fahrenheit, showering your target in a momentary wall of flame.

WARNING! Extreme fire hazard. Do not shoot in any dry grass foliage, trees, or near flammable material

NOTE: This round is considered to contain hazardous material (HAZMAT) requiring special shipping and handling charge. Please click here for more details.

Thanks for the link!

"12 GA. Terminator-X;

The lethality contained within the hollow core slug of our terminator 12 GA. almost can't be advertised. Upon impact, This slug mushrooms and expands to nearly 2 inches, stopping the slug from totally penetrating your objective. This rapid expansion forces the dozen of tiny pellets to spread through your objective like a cancerous disease, opening an area at the impact point equal to a softball! The cavity created has the shock effect of 95%! That means only 5% of any living being could survive this kind of hit.2 3/4 round"

LMAO!!

Anyone ordered from these guys? Their online order form is showing State/Province, so....

Or you could always ship to a US address?

I've been looking for flachettes and flame throwers forever

Can't wait to see the look on the border guards face LOL
