There is a few reviews of Canuck guns in google. Any one has any idea about this Firearm Brand? I am interested in an Canuck FD12 Bullpup Semi Auto Shotgun, but not sure if it is a good one. Please share with me if you have any experience with this Brand. Thank you.

Depends where you set the bar for "good". Most Turkish shotguns are functional, and even reliable. I don't own a canuck, but I own two guns by other Turkish brands (and my understanding is there's only a few factories, and many brands come from the same factory) and for what I paid for them they are great guns. Does my $300 Asena semi look as nice as my brothers $1500 beretta? Nope. But it goes bang every time and IMO that's what counts.

That said, I personally wouldn't get one of those bullpup ones. A large percentage of what was already available for bullpup semi autos got deemed AR variants by the govt and prohibited, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if they added the shotgun in question to that list.

If you can live with the possibility that Trudy will ban it then have at er! You only live once and you can't take money with you when you die!... but personally I'd go for one of the M4 clones like the Canuck Operator if I wanted a tactical 12ga.

I own an FD12, my wife has one, and 5 of our friends have them. There is a break in period of a couple of hundred heavy loads, after that they will cycle anything and they are an absolute blast to run. A whole lot of fun in a two or three gun match.
Off the start, they will jam, fte etc, you will have problems so be prepared for that. They start to smooth out after the first hundred rounds, by the two hundred round mark you should be running smooth and reliable, light target loads will run no problem from then on.

I've got the regulator/defender. It's a much simpler design than the fd12, but that said it's been very reliable I've had it about 4 years and it's my main grouse gun and has been rained/snowed on. The coating on the barrel has held up extremely well through the brush and the wood is actually pretty nice. I'd recommend em for the price.

Why? Stoeger m3500 is Turkey made and has been great for me, sure beats the Mossberg 935 I had that keep breaking the forend retainer!

Too many broken parts. Turknelli, High-Power clone, Beretta clone, an "Armed" 12 Gauge single that would open up when fired... Not since Kel-Tec has a brand or country let me down so many times.

I don't recommend anything Turkish.

me and the brother in law were quading into his shack in the woods a few years ago.
we had canuck pumps in the hard cases.
the ride was 45min in and 45 out.
after a month of this, the shotguns were "rattled apart"

we switched to a couple used mossbergs and had no issues since.
I sold one of the canucks for Parts on the EE

they do work, and will probably last a life time bird hunting. No rough handling.

They are Derya, rebranded for Kanadian market.

Just bought one at auction, arrived without firing pin. O'DELL engineering handles warranty/parts. They had no obligation to me, having bought it in auction. Shipped me out a complete pinned bolt, no cost, not even shipping. That's customer service.

It's no old 870 or Model 12. Barbecue paint and pretty gritty. For me it's to be a black berry picking tool, or a truck camping/boondocking outhouse cane.

Yes O'Dell is a great company that stands behind their products and are strong advocates for our community. I have met the team several times and attended their range day last year (see here for my review https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/for...-from-O-Dell-Engineering-7th-Annual-Range-Day ) and hope to get to their upcoming one next month.

As i mention in my review, if you want an FD12, look for one with "OD" in the serial number as those are inspected by O'Dell's people in Turkey.

They are built to a price point, if you understand that going in and adjust your performance expectations accordingly you may enjoy one. I am of the buy once and cry once mentality and tried them out to give them a chance but ended up selling them off as they felt lesser than say a Mossberg or well made Remington. It can get expensive over time if you have to re-purchase things because of quality and durability issues.

Warranty departments are great and all but I'd be a bit tore up having to sacrifice a trip part way through due to a gear failure that could have been avoided by going a bit further up the quality ladder. All things fail even the higher end of the market items like Beretta, Browning etc...so you pays your money and you takes your chances as the old man used to say to us as kids.

Very cool and thanks for the link! I checked our serial numbers and both mine and the wife’s start with OD I’m happy to see :)
They really are a cool shotgun to run, the bull pup design makes them so compact and fast to swing you can really rip through a bunch of targets quickly ,just puts a grin on your face.

I have the Canuck Sentry, I fired about 150 rounds through it and it still would not eject the shells consistently, accuracy was ok, I bought it for white tails and geese, but now it's been demoted to rarely used range gun, I prefer the accuracy and reliability of my Mossberg.

Aesthetically, the Sentry looks cool but feels cheap with the plastic pump, though it has held up so far.
