Are Chinese SKS rifles zeroed wtih Bayonets extended

It would be simple to shoot a SKS in both modes and see what difference it makes to MPI and groups size. My "shooter" has the bayo removed.

Lee Enfields have two POIs - one with bayo fixed, one without. The old range training used to specify bayonets fixed.

So SKS fixed or unfixed will certainly have a difference. Which way was official is immaterial - which one works better for your rifle in 2021, and what I'd go with.

I have a 51 Tula in Tapco and have removed the bayo. I'm shooting around 3-4 MOA @ 100 and 5-6 @ 180yds with irons. May put a scope on this year to see what it really can do with a reticle instead of my 71 year old eyes.

SKS is not zeroed by default. If most of yours came zeroed, they probably were zeroed by previous owners, or communist soldiers. I bought a tool to adjust the front sight. It is for AK-47 or SKS. I think I need to do another small adjustment, seems to be shooting a little high (still hitting a 10" gong at 100m, but sometimes misses high).

I shot my Chinese SKS today and was very pleased. Bayonet in and 5 inch groups but the sights truly suck and the trigger kind of. So I will put a McCarbo spring in to get a clean break and will think about doing something about the sights.

I just wanted to mention for those w/o experience with MCarbo sear springs, the 'lighter' ones can cause the mag to fall open and dump rounds. On my first Tula I contacted MCarbo and they sent me a "medium" one free. Now they offer both together for about $25 CDN incl shipping. The light one was fine for me as I have a Tapco system in my current rifle. The sear spring swap takes about 2# off the trigger. Polishing the sear rails lightly will take another # or so.

I personally do not think they are test fired individually after build they may do a few but I would be surprised if every SKS was zeroed at all bayo in or out
