Are glocks the new toilet paper?

I didn't buy Glocks, but I bought Glock clones, like Shadow Systems and Poly80. I don't like 2x4 grip feeling of a Glock and other ergos issues that were sorted out by the clones.

That's the thing, most know what they're getting when it comes to a Glock. It's either your only gun and it's gonna work, or you're building it up and maybe got a deal that was better than just buying a Shadow Systems or some other high-end not-a-Glock.

I have 2 Berettas APX that I know gonna work, those are guns with superb reliability and a lot more ootb features then any Glock has. I bought not-a-Glocks for modularity mostly, I like all the aftermarket goodies that I can play with.

I find it extremely funny that all the Glock haters are in a mad panic to get a Glock/ Glock clone/Glock parts :)
I find it even funnier that they are getting absolutely raped on pricing, and are actually paying the outrageous prices being asked!
As a long time Glock fanboy I say welcome to the club lol, however, if you have ever slammed, slagged or put down Glock because your “ whatever” gun is so vastly superior you should be denied service and not allowed into the brotherhood of Perfection:)

I tried a Glock when they first came out, not a fan of them. A number of years go, tried another one at the range and it felt nice. So I bought a 19X, one of the best pistols I ever owned.

I don't think this is a TP or FOMO thing at all. People realize that if you can never buy another handgun ever again, you need a gun that has high reliability and available replacement parts. Glock fits that bill better than any other brand.

What surprises me more is how CZ pistols are staying in stock at most shops. It may be a better reliability brand than Glock, but I guess parts and brand recognition may be lacking.

I've always had Glock pistols for the reasons you mentioned. And I doubled my number of both pistols and parts for them with the ban announcement.

I don't get CZ's. Heavy, double the price of a Glock (one of the reasons they are still on the shelves) and i see more failures with them on the line than with Glocks. Plus the parts supply you mentioned.

I hear a lot of "CZ's are great, after you swap out 1/2 the parts with non-existent aftermarket ones" ... and while people say that about Glocks, all of mine have stock internals and go bang every time as long as the ammo is good.

Glock has ALWAYS been toilet paper.

Seirously though, the "if you're gonna have one gun, it should be a Glock" is probably playing in many peoples heads. They are not the best, but they are a very utilitarian, no nonses pistol that can be tricked out more than a Honda Civic in Richmond.

I've been a Glockaholic from day one when they first hit the shelves many years ago.

I have owned, 35's, 17's, 22's, 19's, 23's and even a Model 27 for CCW (Florida)

My top 4 favorite guns, in no given order, Glock 35, 1911, CZ 75 - 85 series and a Browning - Inglis High Power.

I still have a Gen 4 Glock 35 MOS with secondary (KKM 9mm barrel and mags) and a 1911 A1.

Damn, I must admit, I sure do miss my Inglis High Power from my Canadian Forces days.

without denying they work great and i have a few of them: they re just a tool for some and for most a range toy ...

now for the glock brotherhood we may find a distinction between the ones made in usa and the ones made in austria so vastly superior. what do you think of that your highness glock premier ....?

Accuracy, comfort, ease of shooting, styling & cosmetics, I'll take a 9mm 1911 over any Glock in my safe. In fact, over any gun I have ever shot.

Having something that will punch out thousands of rounds without a real cleaning, knowing that I can drop it from X0 feet, or drop a mag from X0 feet and both will work perfectly 99.9999% of the time afterward, makes them an easy first choice if I had no guns in the safe and a freeze was coming.

Many other guns may be as good as or better in many categories now, but Glock does all categories good enough, and still has one major advantage over every other handgun on the market, which is their mags. There isn't another mag on the market that compares to the quality, durability and reliability of Glock.

I have owned a 45 ACP 1911 for 35 years and love it. Its a fantastic gun to shoot. But a Glock 17 is just a better martial firearm.

Well couldn't they just carry a glock using the Isreali method? Where you carry with the chamber empty and #### it before use?

i did not knew i used israeli method when i was in anoter army ... but for most canadian users there is not that much to worry about it as again it is just a range toy ...
