The hunting world is full of salesmen.....guys that are there to sell their ideas and product. Will Primos, Knight, Shockey, Hale, Carlton, etc.....
The make a career out of selling/spokesman for products. They get invited out on different hunts, get equipment from companies, and are expected to write a story that benefits everyone.(and sells product) They make a lot of money and mostly live well. Good for them.
But if they broke their neck, or wrote a poor blog (Zumbo), what happens to them? Dropped like a hot potato I'd guess. Business is business.
I remember hanging on the words of the Jack Oconnors and Chuck Adams' of the world......and they didn't even have videos then.
I've come full circle. And if you have been paying attention to the EE over the past 2 yrs, you can see where Im going.....back to the basics. Didn't take me long to figure out I knew a helluva lot more about hunting than most of these guys. I've talked to most of them, even spent a few days with some. They know marketing. But most haven't been in the bush for years. They dress the part, but overall, it's closer to a Halloween costume than anything.
All of us have dreams of living in a large log cabin, hunting the world with unlimited funds, or having a company who will fund us, provided they get something in return. Think about the stuff you might not have if you had that life......(kids, wife, true friends, a dog)
So I go back to my original question "Are hunters really that smart"? I think we are.
