I have been looking for a short shotgun that wont break the bank as I really only want it to play with and maybe use as a truck/canoe gun and The dominion arms grizzlies seem to have decent reviews considering the price point... the problem is Canada Ammo seems to only have the mag fed models in stock and I want the standard tube magazine. one of the local gun stores I like to visit has a norinco with 14" barrel available but I am wodering if it is the exact same gun as the grizzly or if the DA version has any changes made aside from the name ?

some differences in fit and finish. I have owned both, and its surprisingly noticeable. DA is a superior product in that regard. at least for their shotguns and AR platforms.

Plus most of the DA stuff isn't marked "made in china" which is a nice touch

I have a Norinco PD12 I think is the designation I bought from canadian tire and it is the same gun and the finish is just fine, it is the grey/blackish parkerized finish and I have an 870 hogue stock on it, the forearm tubes on these are ever so slightly larger than the rems but for the price its no trouble, I love mine and it runs very smooth and fits on the back of my rzr perfectly haha and for $298 what the heck is there to debate!!!!

The PD12 is the gun I was looking at I just wanted to make sure it was the same gun as far as functon goes before I decide to buy one... I am fairly new to tactical shotguns and I have seen several threads here saying that the tube feed grizzly was a solid gun for the money.... mag fed just doesnt apeal to me for a few reasons so i need to decide whether to wait who knows how long for canada ammo to get the tube mag grizzly back in stock or just go for the norinco version

Canam Grizzlys are sourced direct from 雄鹰/Hawk Industries, and so does Norinco with some of their lines.
So the only models that are exact are the ones contracted from Qiqihar Hawk by both parties.

I have a pd12. I enjoy it...
Wondering if a 870 stock is " particularly" lighter. The gun feels like a little tank. At 12.5 it's unique and hands nice in tight places... I don't think I would buy a 8.5.... Seems too short for the purpose intended.

The Chinese furniture is significantly heavier than regular 870 sets.
