Are our antiques supposed to be registered?

I was thinking the same thing... the ONLY makes it sound like the moment you own guns that have to be registered so does your antiques...
 
If you called the CFP to register say a .41 Colt, they cannot physically enter it into their system. Their DB has no entry for it, and if the matter went to the registry's Technical Investigation Unit, they would pass it through the shredder on "confetti" setting. All jokes aside, it would be the same as trying to register your toaster in the CFP (although someone did register their heat gun).

However the CFP will "document" your PSA if you call them and ask them to get a letter indicating it's a PSA. You have to give them the serial #, make, model, etc., to get the letter. However, they do keep a record of the "letter issuance" as per FOI, and while not registered, they know the PSA now exists. It's a catch .22.
 
Yeah, the bold 'only' makes it look like it's not just a misunderstanding because of over simplification. It's more like it's intentionally misleading.

Right now I'm going to bed, but I'll call them on it tomorrow, just for the hell of it.

Edit: Funny how now that i'm sober and rested, it's not that misleading anymore...

There are antiques that are registered. There's been a few on the forums where people had to get them unregistered.
 
It is poorly worded. What it means is that if you do not own any non-restricted or restricted firearms, then there is no need for a PAL or registration. PAL's and Registration is only for non-restricted and restricted firearms.
 
It's a double standard, If you have a prohib registered as restricted, someone will figure it out eventually and change it's classification for you. They claim they are striving to keep the registry "correct". If you have an antique or restricted registered as a prohib they won't say a word unless you're smart enough to realize it. There's no effort to keep things correct if it means destroying another gun.
