Still way ahead of us here. This year we have 13,163 for rifle, 2587 for bow. Which is higher than last year, as they increased the cow tags, but have also decreased the bull tags. I don't really understand why, as they say the moose pop is down here, so why increase the cow tags??

You still haven't named the Outfitter that you illegally hunted Caribou with and with whom you had such a terrible hunt that you want to come back again. You silence on this point is deafening!
In my experience, Outfitters are like anything else...you buy cheap, you get cheap. If you want quality, you have to pay for it. I'm sure we'll be seeing another rant thread from you come October/November about the cheap-ass Newfie Moose hunt you were just on...probably had to share a guide, instead of one-on-one...put up in a wall tent in the middle of nowhere. The guide/cook, couldn't cook...food was terrible...it rained...I missed my mommy, etc., etc.....
As for Moose tags...that is one thing there is no shortage of here in Newfoundland. In fact, because of so many moose/vehicle accidents and associated fatalities, the government is coming under pressure to increase the number of tags issued per year substantially. In fact, I just had to shoo another Cow moose with calf out of the back yard. They were into the flowers and driving the beagles nuts in their kennel.
I have a few buddies who outfit up here in Northern Alberta and if they drop their prices they won't get clients.
The logic is a cheap hunt results in cheap food, old equipment and a less than first class experience.
When he started years ago his initial prices were $1500 to $2000 less than what they are now and he couldn't get clients. Once he raised his prices, the phone started ringing.

A very good point. We all know the same is true even on our own EE. If something desirable comes up for sale at a low price, your first thought is 'what's wrong with it'. Ditto for one and two star rated hotels, etc. They might very well be 'diamonds in the rough', but for the majority of the clientele looking for that 'trip of a lifetime' hunt, they're not likely looking to cheap out.
I'll send you my EMT addy so you can fire me off 500 bucks for my ol tired cooey 22 if that will make you feel better. First its "guys who have expendible cash" Then its once in a lifetime. I still say once ya got your spots filled you book the empties just though their not empties. Apparently the guy I got is of the same mind so, like curly bill said "bye"
