Are rangefinders exempt from ITAR?

Yes they are exempt,as are binos and spotting scopes.I've ordered a couple of Leica range finders from Cameraland,good prices and no duty either. Mur

Same experience here, again with Cameraland. I think things get into ITAR country when they have reticles.

Anything that is meant to be attached to a firearm, or used in a firearm, is covered under ITAR.
