Aftermarket barrels will be more accurate than stock ruger..they have a looser factory tolerance for mass production,where aftermarket makers can afford to spend more time on them and make them straiter.I remeber reading somewhere the factory ruger barrel straitness tolerances were pretty loose compared to most other firearms makers.Ruger is lucky theres such a huge aftermarket for these rifles,otherwise i dont think anyone would buy them..a new 10/22 is 200$ more than a remmington .22,and i think the remmington is a way better gun.But you cant do with a remy what you can with a ruger aftermarket wise.That kinda went long,basically the rugers (in stock form),are a crap gun compared to the rest of the pack
