Are Swiss K31's and supply at dealers starting to run out?

It's really too bad about the odd calibre. A K31 in .308 would be much more desirable IMHO.

Yes! I know that reloading exists.

It was the 1889s that were re-chambered to 30-30 and sporterized with cut down stock.

Some 96/11 and 1911s were re-chambered to .308 and sporterized with cut down stock.

Never heard of anyone messing with the K31 chambering.
Can't be done cost effectively.

Note the magazine size and placement related to the trigger in the main models.
96/11, 1911 and K11 are one one family and parts are mostly interchangeable except for stock and sights.

CSC was/is selling a pile of them recently at $250 a pop:

It is a great rifle and I enjoy mine a lot, but without the cachet of wartime use...my guess is it will always remain an under-appreciated, modestly priced and readily available firearm.

But, youv'e got to appreciate it and the rest of the family for their very high standards of manufacture, not something you see every day.

Grizz

I have been noticing that some dealers like Trade-Ex and SFRC of K31's are showing them sold out, are we starting to see the end of supply of these accurate and great priced milsurp rifles?

I heard that the last batch that came into the country was the last lot to be released from Swiss military storage as they are now all gone and sold out of service and we will not get anymore! Even the dealers in the US are saying this (Samco etc.) and they and Gunbroker are asking more for their ones then we are here in Canada.

If this is true it may mean those who don't have one better hurry up before they are all snapped up, what do the rest of you think about this?

Sorry for reviving an old thread, but who would have thought that those fine Swiss K31 rifles would disappear from dealers shelf's and go for so much now?

And the Capt. is a friend of mine.
