Just bought my first 30 mm scope and was wondering if the Talley Lightweight mounts are available fo a Sako 85 SS 7-08? If they aren't,,,,, what lighter weight mounts/rings would you recommend? Trying to keep the overall weight of the rifle/scope down. (Would prefer not buying the Sako Optilocks)

According to their website, Talley only makes the lightweight for the Sako A7.
Leupolds would weigh a bit less than the Optilocks, as they do not have as much steel in their design. Not sure if they offer in SS, but you could have them Cerakoted to match.
I have them on an older Sako (AV) and they work fine.

I do like the Optilocks as they have the insert that protects the scope's tube from marring. They are a secure system, and with a larger scope (30mm, although you did not mention scope make or objective size; some get pretty heavy), you will want the extra security of keeping the scope in place (although your 7mm-08 won't recoil as bad as a magnum chambering).

Sako 85s aren't drilled and tapped. They require dovetail type mounts. There are a few manufacturers that make rails for the sako 85 dovetail but don't recall if any are aluminum off the top of my head. Aluminum, rail if one could be found, with aluminum rings would be lightest option. The only other thing you could do is get Talley 1-piece lightweights for a Tikka (flat bottoms on the bases) and have a gunsmith drill and tap the rifle to match.
