I don't think the bears will laugh at you - they will be scared because they can't see so well. On the other hand, the moose and deer will probably laugh at you.

Uh, I'd be mounting that scope a wee bit further forward, just to take advantage of the Leupold's eye relief (and having been cut by the scope on my first stoutly loaded 1895 Marlin many moons ago...)

Just a suggestion, of course.
