are the recent SVT40s import marked?

Just wonding if anyone can tell me if the recent (i.e., in the last 2 years) batch of SVT40s being hawked by various dealers at the moment are import marked?

And if so what's the marking (e.g., electropenciled receiver, etc)?

no they are not. G4 institute imported about 200 of them through germany and these have german proofs on them however the ones marstar brought in came through yugoslavia and had no marks on them....neither had import marks however

Yes, and no. They aren't import marked but they do have very small and discrete German proof marks from being in Germany prior to being imported to Canada. They are EXPORT marked. The proof is a small (5 or 6 pt font) laser etched commercial proof mark and the caliber on the bbl. It's really tiny though and tastefully done, not like the ugly Century electrostencil.

My first SVT was from the German Export batch in 04/05. Paid $600 ish taxes in.

Glad prices have returned to normal.

Also, crazy enough, one of the most accurate SVT40s/Milsurps I've ever shot.... 1 in a million...

There was a post where someone said they have an SVT with laser engraving under the date stamp. The post disappeared somehow...
