I like my T/C Hawken. I have a friend who has a Savage and wants to part with it.....it looks like a million bucks but I can outshoot him .....and I think that is why he is gonna sell it. He really shoots my Hawken well.

I've owned scoped in-line ML's before, and this spiked an interest in "traditional" sidelock.. I now hunt/plink with a T/C Hawken sun/snow/shine and it has never failed to fire.
Real black powder/#11 caps and PRB are all you need for muzzleloaders given the inherent ballistics of them..

Had the T/C renegade in 54 cal cap lock, it shot very well , would take out those plastic push pins at 25 meters , with iron sights. Hunting load.
Also had the T/C cherokee 45 cap lock, and 50 T/C hawken in flint . All very accurate guns . Always wanted to try a Lyman 54 cal great plains rifle in flintlock , never did:(

I thought this was about the Savage Muzzle Loaders.
Anyway I purchased one this year. Nice gun. Maintenance free compared to other black powders. I like it a lot. It is very similar to a centerfire rifle and so most of the "traditionalists" will scoff at it. If you are looking at a gun that has tons of knockdown power, more range, then I would recommend it. Otherwise if you enjoy the old school challenge then don't buy this gun.
Just my 2 cents
