It depends where they came from. If they were in long term storage, they had a proper cosmoline dip to ensure moisture would not be a problem. In Many cases , they were cleaned up before or when they arrived in Canada. Cleaning cosmoline is not that big of a deal, and you get a good inspection of the rifle before you fire it. With or without cosmoline, I recommend a rifle to be completely stripped and inspected before use, no exceptions. Any/all rifles can find its perspective field stripping manual to be printed online before you begin, and for use during the process so you don't have to get grease and slime all over your computer.
