Good day everyone. I am not able to get out much due to work and finishing off my masters project and was wondering because of the early spring, if the Toms have shut it off for this season.

In the first week, I saw 3 nice gobblers in the first day but they did not present a good shot for a bow hunter. However, this past weekend, I have been out three times, and have no response to my calls???? Are they taking a break, any info???

Thanks,
John

Not done yet, lots of gobbling thismorning. The hens are being very vocal as well. Its like there starting to ##### at the toms who keep asking for lovin

chances are the toms in your area are already with hens so they arent interested in your calling. maybe if you put on a turkey suit and walk around soundin like a hen, big ol mr tom will come get you :D

edit: when are you hunting? they usually dont gobble very much in the afternoon.

Still trying to get a second bird for one of the hunters and we are still getting a lot of gobbles while on the roost. Once they come down and during the day it gets quiet. Not seeing as many in the open as the grass is getting tall. How are the bugs in your area?
