I would love to get into this kind on sillouette shooting but would loke to check with current shooters first . I would like to know who and where this style of shooting is currently underway .

Any info would be appreciated in this endevor.

I have heard that there are some people in Saskatchewan and Alberta that are shooting BPCR but I have found no info on it. If there is anyone that knows , please post the info.

For Alberta, you might check with Cat n the Hat up at Fort Macmurray. you will find his posts on the list from time to time. Around Edmonton I would suggest tracking down a fellow called Don Melmouth who is a very active shooter.

There is an active BPCR club/range at Rocky Mountain House and also I believe in Valleyview Alberta. I could likely get some contact names for these clubs if necessary.
In Saskatchewan there are quite a few shooters. There are 2 matches in Prince Albert and 3 matches in Bethune (just a little North of Regina) with around 30 shooters attending. Some of the guys have been attending matches in Big Timber, Montana USA as well. PM me for names, addresses and phone # or email addresses for the major contacts for these ranges.

They shoot matches all summer in Ridgway PA. It's approx 2hrs south of Buffalo NY. That's one heck of a long haul for you. But it may well be your only choice. I don't know of anything further east. A bunch of us around here (ontario) shoot highpower silhouette down there from April to September. It is an excellent facility and they welcome new shooters with open arms.

Manitoba has a match in the spring on fathers day at the Selkirk gun club
Al Phillips is the man who puts it on and he also would know about the Sask meet because he has been to that one.

There bare BPCR shoots in Donalda, and Ft. Mac, Lethgridge, and a few other towns in Allberta.
here are a few pics of our BPCR line at last summer's rendezvous.
The targets are standard Sillhouette - checken at 200 meters, hog at 300 meters, turkey at 385 meters, and ram at 500 meters.

5 Targets per distancee, all are shot frrom cross sticks with the exception of the chicken, which is shot offhand.

Ya, tha's me, shortround!
The hat is standard kit for me when it gets -25 and a Stetson just don't keep the ears warm!
The rifle is a 40/65 Highwall replica, the scope is a Navy Arms (Tasco), with a set of custom mounts ...

Contact the Alberta Black Powder Assoc. - Don Melmoth 780-542-6077.
He is an active and knowledgable shooter of B.P. They have shoots in Rocky Mountain House, Valleyview and Camrose. In B.C. Contact Don Morphy in Kamloops 250-376-7071. There are 2 or 3 you can go to there.
