Exactly, anything outside of the definition of "assault rifle" will just be named in the list.

I don't believe that the provincial police or the RCMP would have enough capacity to enforce any of this nor would they want to.

Being that assault rifles have been prohibited for decades, everything now being banned, it outside of that definition.

Belive the Rem's and the BAR will be scooped up in the mag restrictions, as they are CAPABLE of taking a larger mag. They haven't got that far into the bill, yet, in the SECU meetings.

My understanding in the wording is that (sic) "were originally designed to take a detachable magazine with more than 5 rounds...". So (in theory) the Remington autoloaders should not be in the ban, even though there are magazines that fit, that hold more than 5 rounds (although not manufactured by Remington).

And that may stay true until the next round of bans , because they will eventually ban them all, they just want to do it in stages, to prevent too many people getting upset at once.

Nope, it's "capable of accepting". Which explains the lack of listing some rifles. Basically if anyone, anywhere has made a magazine to fit rifle x, that holds more than 5 rounds, it's done. Incidentally, Remington made a Police version of the 7400 in the late '70's - it had 10 round mags, so, either way.....

Yep, the 74 family can take a 76 family mag, and we can all be sure the boys with the ponies with hoof glitter know there are '76 family' 10 shots mags being sold in Canada.

The BARs did have a DM kit and higher cap mags available in Europe, but its besides the point. There will be no real holes in this net if they get what they want.

The price of Remington 760/7600s just doubled.
