Are there any Tikka T1x .22's available in Canada?

These suckers seem difficult to find - does anyone know of stock anywhere in the country? My PAL and RPAL's are approved by the RCMP and in the mail (only took 30 days :d), and I'm ready to purchase my first rifle.

Honestly CCI MiniMags have been a welcome surprise. Mind you I have only shot it out to 25ish yards thus far, but I like what I am seeing. There are a few other threads on here discussing people's results with their T1X's.

It looks like my impulse decision to buy one in December was fortunate. I haven't shot it yet as I have to wait for the snow to go so I can get to my range. I'm not in a hurry, however, since I have a few other rifles to test out ahead of it. They look like well made rifles and reports of their accuracy are intriguing.

Why the want for a 20" barrel? Isn't 16" about ideal for 22lr velocity, and unless you are planning to run iron sights the extra length doesn't really help with accuracy?

I'm never going to hunt with it, so for me there isn't a need for shorter barrel. It's never going to be slung over my shoulder. It's purely a bench rest rifle for me - if there is even a small chance that the 20" barrel is more accurate, I'd rather go that direction. I don't really care for the look of the 16" barrel either :)

The amount of powder in a 22lr round is normally burnt off by 16" so there is really no benefits to a longer barrel.

My most accurate 22lr rifles have 16" barrels. This includes my Tikka's. My Tikka's shoot the same in either 16" or 20" in terms of accuracy but I have yet to chrony them but suspect the 16" will be a slight bit faster with std velocity ammo as in previous testing with other guns.

Unless you are using iron sights, barrel length is irrelevant to accuracy. Even with iron sights, the gun isn't more accurate with a longer barrel the shooter is, due to the longer sight radius.
