Are there any Tikka T1x .22's available in Canada?

Truthfully, I can't stomach the look of the 16" barrel... it looks like someone took a saw to it. Saying that, are we able to thread anything onto a T1x in Canada? To add a few inches?

Fake can?

Version 2 of our famous fake suppressor. This is a little heavier and shinier than our earlier models. The glossy exterior looks James Bond as f**k. Equally at home at the range, on the back forty, or at a high-stakes game of Baccarat.

Why go for the 22? .17 hmr fast flat and relatively inexpensive ammo. You can hit cow pies at 300 yds. One at Ellwood Epps for $650. I just bought a Savage A17. My buddy talked me into it.

300yds on the world's calmest day maybe lol

22lr is cheaper for the cheap stuff, and more consistent with the good (although more expensive) stuff. Nothing wrong with the 17hmr, would have one if we had squirrels to hunt in these parts, but for only paper punching I don't see the appeal.

For the reasons that Suther mentioned. I'd like to bang off hundreds of rounds to get my feet wet - while not breaking the bank. Saying that, I absolutely plan to purchase a .17HMR down the road. From what I understand they're heck of a lot of fun.

Do a search on YouTube for How Far Will A 17 HMR Shoot
Pretty accurate if you ask me, those boys didn't need the world's calmest day.

Contrary to popular misperception, the 17hmr is not a magic answer to shooting in even a wee bit of wind. Ten mph is a "gentle breeze" according to the Beaufort Scale. In a 10 mph crosswind at 100 yards, the 17hmr will drift 3.17" while the lowly .22LR drifts 4.69" (these figures from the sticky above in this forum). By comparison, in a similar breeze a 175g .308 Win round won't drift a single inch until it is at 130 yards.

Incase anyone finds this tread in the next day or so... Corlane Sporting Goods has one left (I just ordered the 2nd last one from them in .22LR and 20" barrel) and 1 .17HMR both in 20" barrels. Also, I'm pretty sure Arnie's Guns has 1 .22LR in 20" available still as well. This things are elusive beasts.

Glad to hear you managed to get one!!! :)

Dominion Outdoors have both the 16 and 20 inch barrel models....edit looks like only the 16 inch barrel models available now

I don't care for the look of the 16" either. I prefer both the looks and increased inertia of the longer barrel.

Cabela's briefly had the 20" .22 in stock yesterday for $679, they were out of stock again by last night. They have some 17HMR left.

Prairie Gun Traders in Saskatchewan has, or had, at least one 20" .22 when I talked to them yesterday for $649.

The Gun Dealer has 3 16" .22 in stock, they either didn't get any 20" in the latest bunch or they were already spoken for.

Bass Pro is showing the T1x on it's not-so-amazing multi-national USD-priced website now, but there's no stock in Eastern Canada. You can probably tell I'm not a fan of their marketing strategy.

I don't know where all these rifles are going, but I'm going to say this is the hottest selling rimfire firearm I've ever seen on the market. Eventually that market will be saturated, but for now Tikka can't build them fast enough.

I want to pick one up and hold it before I buy.
