Are there differences on trap and field stocks?

I have a Beretta Onyx Pro field gun and a Beretta Olympic Trap. The trap version has the stock parallel to the barrel rib and the field stock is slanted back. When I shoulder my trap gun, I can press my cheek down on the stock for a great cheek weld and have a perfect sightline down the barrel. On my field gun I have to hold my cheek off the stock and rest only my chin on it. For trap shooting, the field gun is much more difficult since you cant get a consistent cheek weld. That being said, I used my field gun for trap shooting before I got my dedicated trap gun and had good success. Just need practice.

Thanks for the info. I was thinking of putting a field stock on the 390ST. Although I shoot some trap, i also use the gun for duck and upland game, so not sure which stock would be better as a all around stock.
