Are there places that offer proofing of loads?

I found two, one called HP White in the US and one in the UK called The Birmingham Gun Barrel Proof House. Any type of company like this in Canada? I'm interested to know the pressure of loads I shooting in antique revolvers.

Canadian Explosives Research Lab in Ottawa. They can do it, but they mainly work for government and business, as does HP White.

i suppose if you were serious you could buy a barrel. they run about $400.

The other option is to have a savage barrel made up in your caliber and use a pressure trace. They you can work the loads up as needed. (would be my choice).

What calibres?

Caliber is .41 Colt, an old obsolete round I shoot in antique revolvers. I would like some blackpowder and smokeless loads tested.

Another approach could be to get a contender in .357 rebored and chambered, not sure who can do one to my caliber though.

The Burmingham place in England can't do it either.

Maybe they can cut one in 41 colt for you.

You may also be able to hand recut the chamber of a 10mm barrel to work. The modern 41 colt guns seems to use a 401 groove.

I don't think the sensor would fit between the cylinder and frame, but I did think of the same idea.

I just thought of the .40S&W/10mm thing too, but the case of a 10mm is .425" and a .40S&W .424" while the colt is .405" with chamber only .410". I already found machining reamers at .410" that would probably work but I'd probably have issues with an oversized chamber buldging/rupturing most of the case's base.

Groove diameter is .408" on my guns, though .41 barrels were supposed to be changed to the same as the 38-40 back then which I think a closer to .401". The bullet is an undersized hollow base @ .386" design to "puff up" under pressure.
