Just picked up a Remington 700 SPS in 7MM-08. I have owned 7x57 mauser and 7mm rem. mag never had or tried the 08 though. Figured what the hell. They never had anything good like any Winchester 94's so i thought i would test the Remmy waters.:D

Rem 700 SPS in 7mm-08.

Nice score!

If I was going to get another brand new Rem 700 SPS it would be in 7mm-08 Rem for sure. It's a fantastic ctg.

Hard to justify another rifle in 7mm-08 right now, though. [Got 4 of 'em already... ]

..............JYC i still have the box and i am known to trade a rifle before ever pullin the trigger the first time.:D

Is it a floor plate model or detachable magazine??

you're going to hate it:rolleyes: ...the trigger will need work, it will need to be bedded to shoot under 2", the grit blasted finish rusts if you look at it too long, the bolt is not "smoooooth" like a Tikka and the bolt handle will fall off....and the 7-08 is not as fast as the 7mmRUM........you better order up a $500 MacMillan stock, a $400 jewel trigger, and a $400 Gaillard barrel.....and get that horribly crooked action trued up:) ...better send it to me before you fire it;).......I have a 284 Win reamer here.....we'll fix it up right proper:D

just kidding.....you done good.....adjust the trigger and shoot it....you might be surprised:cool:

Some years back I bought a Rem. 788 in .243 for my kids to hunt with. It is a real shooter and I may hang onto it to shoot coyotes. But I have been thinking of geting the son and daughter something a little bigger as they now both are bigger. Your 7mm-08 looks like just the ticket. When I get back to Alberta I may have to get "them" one.
