Are these hard to come by???

The only selective one that I examined had detents fore and aft on the left side of the trigger guard, a stamped "A", and a clearance cut for the selector which hung down from the stock.

Love my SAFN-49 Egyptian Contract in 7.92x57! Was my first rifle I ever bought, first rifle I ever hunted with, first rifle I ever fixed (firing pin), first slam fire . I have been tempted to sell it many times, but that first gun is pretty hard to let go of, I'm glad I haven't parted with it!

I like my G43 better for its aesthetics, but for fit and function, no battle rifle even comes close to the FN-49!

Here is My FN-49 and its true blooded Egyptian brother, the Hakim:

Allen Lever sold the Egyptian 8mm FN's in mint condition for $49.95 when he brought them into canada.............

For the guys asking about value and where to find one I can say I have been looking for one for a good long while myself.
I recently, attended an auction that had 2 both Egyptians up for bid.
I paid $350 for mine in good solid condition. The other one in exellent condition went for about $575. First time I had seen any at auction in the last 4 years also it was a bit of an odd auction seemed to be way more rifles than buyers.
