I didnt think moaning about the price of something was a question. Thanks for pointing that out to me now I know. 
I will bet you that if you open your own business, and offer bullets for only 10% more than you can buy them in the states, everyone on this site will flock to you in droves to buy them. You won't be able to keep them in stock.
Oh, and make sure you offer free shipping too.
I chuckle when I see guys comparing stuff in the states to stuff up here.

If it eluded you, we have CPP, EI, and far higher minimum wage structures here in Kanada. Our income tax rates by far are much different than the USA'a as well.
Now throw in Export and Import paperwork, and extra shipping. and of course the Distributers pound of flesh.
Really $50 something a box for bullets, so lets say $1.00 per pill.
Gas is closing in on $120.00/l here in Ab.
A well rounded purchase of tags will run you over $100.00 here as well..not to mention the cost of draws etc.
If your getting vehicle insurance for much less than $100/mo, for a newer truck, with good coverage your smiling.
A dozen of the finest suds will run you close to $20.00.
A trip to the movies with your Mrs. in a metropolitan area, will ding you for $40.00 or more if you split a popcorn and have a small drink for each of you.
A set of decent 17" tires for your pick-up will set you back for more than $1000.00, likely being closer to $1500.00.
The cheapest oil change I can get is $45.00 + enviro fees.
And you quibble about a $50.00 box of bullets?

What are you shooting at that you need partitions? We got no Grizz here in Sask and a ol' core lokt will probably do the job 99% of the time....
All depends on what your a shootin' and how far your critters will be at...I used to use nothing but Nosler ballistic tips years ago when they were in 100rd boxes for a good price...now I don't use them because there are other options out there for a better price...

It's about moose. The thing is that I have developed a round for my rifle using this bullet and have tested it both at the range and while hunting. And I would like to continue with this very round. As for the Ballistic Tip - yes, it shoots fine, and I still have a box of them in 180, but they say a 180-grain Ballistic Tip is not that good on moose. Anyhow, I never tested it on the game and I do not want to change anything given that I have already had good results with Partition. Yes, finally I will buy it, no choice. Just wanted a better price - something like I paid last year, and not all these considerations about the difference in the tax systems of the USA and Canada and so on.

...Core Lokt... pretty much any bullet out there will knock over these "Pussy Cats".....It's up to you but I would not use a partition on a moose...Grizz yes, Moose no...any hornady, sierra, win, rem, etc will do just fine...
If I were you I'd buy 10 boxes at the current price, 'cause you know you'll be shooting the cheapest bullets on the market in 10 years when Core-loks and Ballistic Tips and Sierras are $75 a box.
I usually buy 3-5 boxes at a time, not due to pricing but more to lack of availability. It is very vexing to get a load worked up only to find no more bullets available in West Canada.

NP's are expensive, you wont find them 'cheap'...
Buy 50, work up a load, sight in your rifle. This may take most of the bullets but even if you are left with 20 or 15 you still have enought o hunt.
Then use cheaper 180gr bullets for summer practice, range time and backup. Make a note of scope adjutments between each bullet/load. Nest season read the notes, click click click, fire a group a or two and you are set.
If you already have a decent 180gr load you might only need to fire 20 of them to settle on a field load. 50 bullets might last through load development and give you 2 seasons of hunting. Subsequent 50 might last 5 years...

Normal, no. Fact of life, yes. Wishing and hoping won't change the fact that the cost of living is significantly higher in Canada than the US. The price you quoted for your bullets was perhaps a bit on the high side, but only by a few dollars. I have never seen them for much less than $50 for a box of 50. If you want to comparison shop easily, contact Mystic Precision and Budget Shooter Supply (both site sponsors, up in the banner ads at the top of the screen) for their price on these bullets. Between Jerry and Henry you will find about the cheapest price available. I bet it isn't significantly less than $50/50.
As noted by others, if you think all of our stores are gouging, you are free to open your own business and sell bullets for the same price as in the US. I am sure the volume of business would be staggering and you would get rich in a hurry.
The reason people are snarky about this is that there is a rant almost daily about how we get screwed compared to the US for damned near any product you care to name. If you don't like it, don't complain here. Talk to your MP and demand they lift our ridiculous duty schedule, cut taxes to reasonable levels and abandon our incredibly bloated, expensive socialist system of welfare, health care and government. These things are what make your bullets cost twice what they do in the US.

IF the presentation is ideal, almost any big game bullet will kill a moose....I agree with that.
But that is where it stops.
If the presentation is not ideal,[quartering towards, for example]
This is where the premium bullet shines.
It will get through heavy bone and into the vitals, whereas the C&C bullet may not.
I have shot enough moose to know what I'm saying is on solid ground.
The OP has a load developed with the Partition.
I believe he is doing the right thing by using that fine bullet.
I would never discourage such a choice.

I have noticed some dealers had older stock at lower pre '08/'09 shortage prices. So when everyone else wanted $36.99 for 308 brass etc some shops that were slower still had $23.99 brass on the shelf. Even some places with mixed price on the new and old stock tags. If you find a dealer who has cheaper stock please let us all know.
