Hi Everyone,
I got a BNIB Tikka t3 and apparently the rings are missing.
Since when did Sako/Tikka stop shipping these rings with rifles ?
did seller take them away before sending it to me ?
Are these rings caliber specific (I ve seen some BNIB 270 or 300wmg in store that have rings in the their boxes)?
Why can't I find them from other sources ? are they discontinued ?
Any ideas are appreciated.

I bought a 270 win Tikka T3 a few years back and it didn't come with rings. I bought leupold rifleman plane jane rings and they worked fine.

Pretty sure the factory rings only came in the USA bound product. Wasnt an option here. I've had a half dozen new Tikkas and never had rings supplied.

Tikkas/Sakos have never come with rings in Canada as far as I remember and I have bought a few brand new over the years and they never came with any. The Sako A7s came with the bases but that was all I think. I believe the only rifles in Canada that normally come with rings are the Rugers.

Predates me starting 7 years ago, but I'm guessing when 30mm scopes started becoming standard they realized that each owner would have their own preference.

Optilock products on our site;

ignore the Burris ones, they need to be fixed but will work with STD series scope rings if you choose not to go with Optilock

Thanks for all the feedback.
So it all comes down to this: the rings are almost always provided for rifles in the usa but not here. Because we are a secondary market.

I checked into this too when I was buying a Tikka. They only came with the US rifles. I don't think we are missing much anyway as the Americans did not speak to highly of the Tikka supplied rings on forums. Usually the Talley or dnz rings are recommended as a step up in quality.

You can also take a major leap forward and buy a Finnish-made MaSi 1-piece QD mount. Impeccable quality. I find QD mounts very handy for storage, transport, and cleaning.
