Are Winchester 77s good guns?

Got a plain jane 10/22 15 yrs ago and got fed up with it - sold it. Then a Marlin 60 used and that was enjoyable. It shot well, but didn't feel substantial. Recently got a used Win 77 tube fed from the EE and love its simplicity, solid feel, nice trigger and above all, its dead-on accuracy. Am shooting 100 mtrs and getting 1 1/2" groups with open sights. Get it for tons of shooting pleasure.

Even though not that long ago , Win 77 came from an era when arms were made well. Inexpensive rifles but made much better than many today. Enjoy it!

I haven't fired it yet but looks good!

I just got a tube mag version, it's in the mail.

What kind of ammo are you guys using? The seller said I should use high velocity. My go to .22lr is Winchester Dyna Points, I have a butt load of them because they are so cheap at Walmart (the only reason I go there). Anyone shoot these in a 77? Listed MV is 1150fps from a 6" barrel.

These were a pretty decent semi.
Watch your left thumb, it can get hammered by the bolt handle on that left side, lol.
Accuracy is seldom a concern with the 77.
Any I have shot were quite good.
A lot of them did not get a tremendous amount of use, so are still in great shape.
Regards, Eagleye.
