The lifetime warranty is harder to use here but you can do it. Still, you will have more for your money if you get one with a few USGI parts. They keep using them from times to times nowadays. If you're patient, keep an eye on the EE and the gunshops around you until you find a nice one with USGI bolt and oprod. Meanwhile learn how to recognize these parts, how to inspect a M14, etc.
It's a fine rifle (plain-jane M1A)...
...That being said, for the price, had I known better at the time, I would have bought 3 Norincos and 2 cases of SA 7.62.
I was a newb to the M14 at the time and I bought before I researched.
Others will tell you Norincos are junk compared to an M1A, IMO, that is total BS.
I guess for me it all boils down to value for the hard earned money. Knowing where the guts come from in a new 2000+ M1A does not make me very impressed with the price tag... Warranty or not.
If rack grade M1A's were priced 1000.00 less, I feel the price would then be representative of the composition of the rifle.
I'm spoiled though , because I have access to GI parts and hammer forged receivers, which in my experience, come out way ahead of a rack grade springer when looking at quality of build versus money spent.
My big beef with springfield started when I was a wholesale buyer in the sporting goods industry, at a "Worldwide Distributors" buyers convention in Reno. I was fondling a socom2 at their display and when the rep found out I was from Canada... His demeanor and behavior went into the toilet. I've pretty much said phuck springfield ever since LOL

I remember back in the early days when the Norincos were coming out on the market and it was the M1A guys jumping in saying they were a piece of crap,.....you're throwing your money away...........don't buy them............you should buy an American made M1A............It was ok for M1A owners to do that................now that the shoe is on the other foot, it's the M1A owners who are crying foul..........
Oh how the tables have turned.......
Buy whatever makes you happy..........That's all that really matters........
I feel much more american than chinese. A few rifles won't change the economic balance between Asia and America. But I still feel pride having a rifle made in America. With it's USGI parts, my M1A belongs in America.
My M1A is a part of america's rifle legacy. Ok it's not a real M14 but it's not that far.
If you enjoy your M305 and the good deal, it's perfect and I undestand you. If it was just me, China would keep their stuff.
