First off, I'm not a T97 owner.... yet. I was never interested in them until I had a chance to handle one, now I'm interested!
So for all you T97 owners, are you happy with your T97?.

I am very impressed with mine. It has the balance of a bullpup and works very well. No FTFs or FTEs. The sights are actually pretty good as well. Aftermarket rails and accessories are already in the R&D stages as well so it is a good time to get one.

Yup, tons of fun. I've already got a couple AR buddies on board as well.

All of the complaints about its design are already being addressed, and I'd wager in the next 6 months there will be an absolute flood of aftermarket doodads to customize it in every way you see fit.

Lol in a couple weeks two different posters had solved the mag release issue, as well as the magwell fix. Now there's already a prototype flattop rail. Next will come the safey + rails. Lol then what will be left to complain about??

Just shot mine today for the first time, 200 rounds and no issues. As accurate as I am with iron sights at 50 yards. Waiting for what I hope will be a flood of rails, scope mounts and other accessories to spend my money on.

Took mine apart last night in preparation for a trip to the range today, as was pleasantly surprised how easily it came apart....and got put back together, sans tools.
Brake cleaner took the storage crud off, and G96 was applied liberally to the appropriate parts.
At the range today, only got a chance to shoot at 25 yards, but was more than happy with the trigger, general handling, and accuracy.
Yeah...the controls blow, but everything worked like it was supposed to, and I get the feeling it will be reliable, like most other Norinco products.
At $1200 out the door....a price paid for being an 'early adapter', it still strikes me as pretty good value, but at $850 + tax, I think that it's a smokin' deal for what you get.
I had a couple of 'newbie' shoot it back to back with a Tavor, and they both thought the T97's trigger was much nicer ( it is!).
When they found out the price difference, they were sold!
I find the T97...and likely any 'variant'....easy to recommend. I have found my new 'truck gun'!:dancingbanana:

I got mine this week, but still have to shoot it, hopefully Monday, but sure am excited about it

ABSOLUTELY!!! Now, that's not to say I would not want to see a couple things...

Bigger rear peep
Thinner front post
Goose neck mount for a red dot between the carry handle & front sight, so it co-witnesses

If my T97 had those, it'd be even more perfect for me.

Cheers
Jay

If you buy it expecting some kind of super rifle you will be disappointed. The safety is ridiculous, the mag changes are queer and the sights are something else...

I love the little bastard.

I just need to figure out what magazines to buy for it and what type of optic.
