Anyone have an Area 419 Hellfire self timing muzzle brake installed on a rifle? They seem pretty easy to install!

Yes I have one on one of my rifles. East to take on and off as I have to remove it to fit the rifle in its case. Seems to work well in the recoil department as well.

Yep I enjoy mine. Easy install and doesn't come loose once set properly but can still be removed without tools if you want to clean it. The system is designed for quick swaps between a brake and a suppressor.

I had 3x Insite and 1x Area 419 in my LR shooting days.
What I disliked about my area 419 in particular (3/4x24), I had to remove the brake to clean the crown.

Then again I’m more of a permanent brake setup kind of guy, set it once and then stays tight for the duration of the barrels life.
My Insites are loctited and not going anywhere...

How hard to install the Insite, because the 419 is easy, thanks

Insite is as easy in my opinion.
In a limited round count comparison, I tend to say Insite has less recoil mitigation but gas blowback is much better.
I noticed this as I always chose the bench next to a wall at the range.

I have both the A419 brake and Insite Heathens, and I prefer the Heathens. I think they are a more refined brake.

In my experience the jam nut on the A419 brake has a tendency to get carbon locked, the threads must be really fine. The brake gills are also not radiused, so they are super sharp. When the jam nut gets locked up and you decide to try and remove it with some muscle and bare hands, you find out very quickly how sharp those ports are.

Also, all the ports on the A419 are directed back at the shooter. Effective for mitigating recoil, but all that blast and concussion is also directed back at the shooter. That concussion takes a toll on the human body, it beats you up after a full day of shooting. The Insite Arms brake has the main port directed perpendicular to the shooter, to direct blast away from the shooter. That creates for a more pleasant shooting experience.

Both do a great job mitigating recoil, but one design is more refined in my humble opinion.

Area419 nice design. They don't come loose like the jam nut brakes that don't use tools. Good reason apa etc use tools to tighten them.
